Children left behind – Kawty –

Eating-Garbage

Instead of being at school to learn how they can make their living, these down-at-heel ragged children, with putrid smell, grimy faces, matted hair and mucky feet spend their gloomy day in the most insalubrious and ruinous area in the suburbs.

Without even bothering to wrinkle their noses or swat the furious flies, the scavenger kids are obliged to collect or sort the garbage to feed their families that struggle to survive. They are, in a word, breadwinners. They win bread and blight the chance to live a better future.
